Deep Clean Facial with Extractions

The extraction-forward facial. Built for congestion.

Ninety minutes of methodical decongestion — ultrasonic derma scrubber opens follicles, manual extractions clear them, decongesting masque calms the response. The extraction-forward facial built for skin carrying congestion no surface protocol can clear.

What it is

The extraction facial for blackheads and congested skin — explained the way Zhanna explains it.

The Deep Clean Facial is the studio's extraction-forward protocol — ninety minutes built around the deep clearance of congested follicles, blackheads, and post-inflammatory texture that the European Facial doesn't have the time budget to fully resolve. The session uses an ultrasonic derma scrubber to open the follicles before manual extraction, which is what separates a clean clearance from the abraded post-extraction redness most clients have experienced elsewhere.

Zhanna built this as a separate page (not a European Facial variant) because the clients who book it know exactly what they need — congestion clearance, not a generalized facial. Variants escalate the session up to one hundred and forty minutes with LED therapy, glycolic or salicylic resurfacing, retinol infusion, or layered combinations. Acne-prone, hormonally cyclical, and post-summer-Houston-pollution skin all respond well; the protocol is gentle enough to repeat at four-week intervals if the congestion load warrants it. Zhanna provides personalized at-home acne-care guidance to help you hold the results between visits.

Who it's for

The Deep Clean Facial fits if any of these describe you.

  • 01Active congestion — blackheads and closed comedones in cluster
  • 02Hormonally cyclical skin where the breakout pattern arrives like clockwork
  • 03Post-summer Houston pollution and humidity buildup
  • 04Anyone whose European Facial extractions felt rushed or incomplete
  • 05Acne-prone clients who want a non-prescription clearance protocol

What to expect

The session, in order.

The sequence below is the typical order of operations. Timings, pressure, and modifications change with the skin — Zhanna adjusts in the room.

  1. 01

    Consultation · skin reading

Standard intake plus a careful surface read of where the congestion clusters. The extraction order is mapped in advance — Zhanna doesn't improvise on this protocol.

  2. 02

    Double cleanse · enzyme softening

Oil-based then water-based cleanse. Enzyme softener for ten minutes — the most important pre-extraction step. Skin is genuinely softened, not just warmed.

  3. 03

    Ultrasonic derma scrubber

Ultrasonic skin scrubber opens follicles and lifts surface debris without abrasion. The step that makes the manual extractions that follow significantly less traumatic to the skin.

  4. 04

    Manual extractions

Thirty to forty minutes of methodical manual extractions. Zhanna works in vertical lanes across the face — forehead, T-zone, cheeks, jaw, decolletage. Slow. Gloved. No skipping zones.

  5. 05

    Decongesting masque

Selected at the chair based on response — clay, sulfur, charcoal, or Skin Zyme (a papaya-enzyme masque by Marini SkinSolutions) depending on inflammation.

  6. 06

    Closing serum + cryo spoons

Soothing serum (panthenol, niacinamide, or peptide depending on the day) sealed in with a closing cryo sculpting spoon application.

Modalities included

Recommended cadence

Every 4 weeks during clearance; every 6–8 weeks for maintenance

If you're actively clearing a congestion load (post-summer, post-hormonal shift, or post-mask-wearing buildup), four-week cadence for three sessions is the protocol. After the load is cleared, six-to-eight weeks is sufficient. Pair with a monthly European Facial or alternating Lymphatic Drainage session to maintain.

Aftercare

What to do — and avoid — after.

Every Vera Pelle treatment

  • Aftercare · Change your pillowcase for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • Pregnancy safety · For pregnant clients, manual technique and massage only — no devices, ever. (LED, micro-current, RF, EMS, electroporation, and the hydradermabrasion machine are excluded.)

Skin will read pink for two to six hours and may show small extraction marks for twelve to twenty-four. Both clear without intervention.

Mineral sunscreen mandatory. Skip makeup for twenty-four hours if you can — the follicles are open and product can repopulate them.

Avoid heat: no sauna, hot yoga, hot shower. Cool water only for the first twelve hours.

Reintroduce active ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs) on day three at half-strength, full strength by day five. Skin will be more receptive than usual — your routine will work harder this week.

Active Accutane (isotretinoin) treatment, or within six months of completion.

Active cystic acne flare requiring dermatologic intervention.

Recent (within ten days) chemical peel, laser, or facial procedure.

Active cold sore or herpes simplex outbreak.

Pregnancy (any stage) — modified to manual extractions only (no ultrasonic derma scrubber), with no salicylic acid, no glycolic acid, and no retinol. Disclose pregnancy status on the consultation form.

Frequently Asked

The questions clients actually ask.

Time budget and tools. The European Facial gives extractions ten to twelve minutes inside a sixty-minute session. The Deep Clean Facial gives them thirty to forty minutes inside a ninety-minute session, with the ultrasonic derma scrubber pre-step that fundamentally changes how thoroughly follicles can be cleared without trauma.

Short purge is possible for the first forty-eight hours — material that was already moving toward the surface gets cleared in one session instead of three. Genuine breakouts (new cystic lesions) are uncommon; if they appear, message the studio and Zhanna will adjust the next protocol.

Yes — Square variants escalate the session up to one hundred and forty minutes with glycolic, salicylic, retinol, LED, or combinations. The $375 base is sufficient for most clients; the escalations are for clients with specific texture or pigmentation goals beyond congestion clearance.

Both, with caveats. For active cystic acne, dermatology comes first; this protocol supports the clearance phase but doesn't replace prescription treatment. For non-cystic congestion — blackheads, closed comedones, surface texture — this is the protocol.

HydraFacial uses vacuum-based extraction; Deep Clean Facial uses manual gloved extraction. Manual is slower and thorough; vacuum is faster and surface-level. Different tools, different outcomes. Most clients who switch from one to the other report manual is what their congestion actually needed.

For blackheads, closed comedones, and non-cystic congestion, yes; this is the studio's extraction-forward protocol. The ninety-minute session gives manual extractions thirty to forty minutes after an ultrasonic derma scrubber opens the follicles. For active cystic acne, dermatology comes first; the protocol supports the clearance phase but does not replace prescription treatment.
