Hydradermabrasion vs. HydraFacial: what's the difference, actually?
HydraFacial is a brand. Hydradermabrasion is the technique underneath it. What the distinction means for your skin — and what it doesn't.

Every conversation in the treatment room starts the same way: a client asks for a HydraFacial. Sometimes a DiamondGlow. They have seen the name on a clinic's window, in a caption, on a friend's story.
What they are describing is hydradermabrasion — the technique underneath. HydraFacial is a brand owned by BeautyHealth. DiamondGlow is a brand owned by Allergan Aesthetics. Both are branded devices with their own serum cartridges. The technique they perform — wet exfoliation paired with serum infusion in the same pass — is a category, not a brand, and it predates both of them.
I use professional equipment that performs hydradermabrasion, red-LED therapy, and oxygen infusion without a brand attached to it. That is a choice about the room, not a verdict on anyone else's. It means I decide the serums, the pressure, and the order of the work, rather than working from a cartridge set.
What changes when the brand comes off is everything around the technique. A branded hydradermabrasion appointment is built around the device: a set protocol, a set cartridge. Mine runs ninety minutes and sits inside a manual sequence: lymphatic activation first, hydradermabrasion in the middle, a custom serum lock and finishing massage at the end. The technique is the same. The treatment is not.
That is why it carries an Italian name here. Idro-Pulizia Clinica — clinical hydrocleansing — names the technique without borrowing a brand.
If your only reference for this treatment is the name on the window, the question is not whether that brand is worth it. The question is what the brand is doing for your skin that the technique in careful hands is not already doing. In my room, I would rather you judge the hands.
